Tickets for Meat Fight go on sale Wednesday, Oct. 2. Meat Fight is a Texas barbecue competition featuring 16 renowned chefs, with 100% of tickets sales benefiting people living with MS nationwide. Last year’s event raised over $200,000 for the cause.
This year, the chefs competing include Misti Norris of Petra and The Beast, David Uygur of Lucia, Anastacia Quinones-Pittman of José, Danyele McPherson of Hero by HGSply and others.
In addition, many “pit masters” will judge the meats. Miss Tootsie from Snow’s BBQ, Todd David from Cattleack BBQ, Tim Hutchins from Hutchins BBQ, plus Texas Monthly’s BBQ Editor, Daniel Vaughn, and Chief “Meateorologist,” WFAA’s Pete Delkus.
“Only at Meat Fight will you see a meat midway, hug Meat Santa, and bid on items in a silent meat auction. If you’re looking for a classy charity event, this ain’t it,” Founder Alice Laussade said in a press release. “Put on your boots, get ready to have a blast, and together we’re going to make a real, immediate difference for people living with MS.”
Guests will also have the opportunity to taste side items from 15 additional DFW staples including Resident Taqueria, Braindead Brewing, Goodfriend Package Store, and Haute Sweets Patisserie, beers from TUPPs Brewery, Four Corners Brewery, and Lakewood Brewery and WhistlePig Rye Whiskey.
16 Fighters will duke it out in four categories: brisket, sausage, burnt ends and pork tacos. Meat Fight attendees actually get the opportunity to eat every competition meat submitted for judging.
All attendees will have the opportunity to taste samples of the 16 competition meats, WhistlePig whiskey tastings and Four Corners beer, and a ridiculous spread of additional food, including side items from iMoto, Monkey King Noodle Company and others.
